How to get the Khvostov 7G-02 in Destiny 2

It’s not everyday that one of the most basic weapons available in a looter shooter becomes one of the community’s favorite. That, however, didn’t stop the Khvostov 7G-02 from becoming one of the most sought-after weapons available in the original Destiny. Now, several years after Guardians used this Auto Rifle to lay waste to their very first enemies, the Khvostov 7G-02 is finally available in Destiny 2. Here’s everything you need to know.

How to get the Khvostov 7G-02 in Destiny 2

Thanks to the introduction of Destiny 2: New Light, players starting off on a new character will find themselves replaying through a familiar mission from the original Destiny. Unlike the start to Destiny 2, which saw players starting off mid-battle in the Tower, the new introduction brings back the first game’s introduction mission, which means players will get a chance to mow down some Fallen with the Khvostov 7G-02, one of Destiny’s most iconic weapons.

To find the Khvostov 7G-02 you’re going to need to play through the tutorial mission until you acquire your first gun, which just so happens to be the one you're looking for. After that, it’s all yours. Just finish the mission and you’ll have it in your inventory and available to use until you find something better. What’s more is though it counts as your first gun, it will drop at a 750 Power Level, which means you can rock it until something better comes along.

If you don’t feel like playing through the tutorial mission again, or if you just don’t have a free character slot, then you can pick up the Khvostov 7G-02 from your Collections tab in your Inventory screen. It will drop at 750 Power Level, so it won’t be worth much in the long run, however, it will give you a bit of that sweet, sweet nostalgia.
